REGIONAL FOOD SECURITY EVALUATION

LANDSCAPE ANALYSIS | 2021 - 2022

Food Works Group, in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA), assessed the current state of food insecurity for The Cameron Foundation’s service region, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 public health emergency. This work included a “state of the state” analysis of food security and food access; mapping and impact analysis of current stakeholders and food access points in the region, including gaps in current programming and services; reporting on food systems funding best practices; recommendations for engaging and activating stakeholders; and, ultimately, an action plan for regional food ecosystem investments to be considered by The Cameron Foundation in subsequent funding cycles.
