IDENTIFYING FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO ALIGN CONSERVATION AND AGRICULTURE IN THE WATERSHED

FACILITATION AND LEADERSHIP | 2023 - 2024

The Chesapeake Bay Funders Network (CBFN) formed a working group focused on the nexus of agricultural production, food systems, and conservation in the Watershed. CBFN recognizes food and agriculture as a crucial sector in this work and is moving forward with lessons learned from the preceding Washington Regional Food Funders group that brought together grant-makers in food and agriculture. CBFN engaged with FWG to develop and facilitate a collaborative process for their new project, the Chesapeake Food and Agriculture Funder Initiative. The Initiative convened the CBFN participants with the goal of enacting systems-level change for a just and thriving regional food system. FWG and CBFN engaged the region’s on-the-ground experts and implementing organizations in order to inform and develop a Roadmap for funding action and impact.
