Meet Our Team

Hannah Galloway

Hannah Galloway has six years of experience in a wide array of agricultural operations, from certified organic vegetable and cattle farms to community run gardens. This, along with her work in food access and caregiving, has given her an intricate understanding of the complexities of promoting food literacy and sovereignty in underserved communities. In every project she takes on, Hannah brings a passion for allocating food and resources thoughtfully and efficiently, to maximize community connections and minimize waste.

Prior to joining the FWG team, Hannah was the Garden Manager at Camphill Village Minnesota, where she was responsible for planning and implementing year-long operations, allocating produce to be processed and stored for winter use, and leading daily crews of adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Before taking on this position, Hannah was the Coordinator of the Community Meal Program in Grinnell, Iowa, where she secured sponsorship from local non-profits, businesses, and community groups and led them in budgeting, preparing, and serving weekly dinners to food-insecure families.

Additionally, Hannah performed in a variety of roles at Grinnell Heritage Farm, Mustard Seed Farm, and Compass Plant CSA, which are all Iowa-based specialty crop and livestock operations. Her responsibilities included running market booths, assisting with USDA price reporting, being a fulltime field crew member, as well as planning community outreach potlucks and events.

Hannah holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Biology from Grinnell College. She lives in Washington, DC.
