DEEPENING FOOD BANK IMPACT ON FOOD SECURITY IN NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA

Seeking to better serve their 11-county service area, the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW Pennsylvania (SH NWPA) engaged with Food Works Group to identify under-resourced geographic, demographic, and programmatic areas and unmet food-related needs in their region. Following this initial analysis and a review of SH NWPA’s current programs and services, FWG identified high-priority gaps and recommended solutions, which included refreshing existing programs, launching new ones, as well as adding services and partners. This ten-month engagement culminated in the development of an actionable strategic plan, frameworks, and support to guide the implementation and evaluation of new and updated programs and services.
