Meet Our Team
Satoko Miller
Satoko Miller, Data Scientist, has been providing a human side to technology. She champions the use of data storytelling and visualizations to build collective intelligence - how people/teams and data can be connected so that collectively, we act more intelligently.
Her goal is to help people make decisions with confidence through data and visualization. She currently teaches Research/Analytics Methodologies and Data Storytelling at Stanford University and helps affiliated organizations build analytics capabilities. She is an Advisory Council member for California State University Big Data Certification Program.
Before taking her academic path, Sat was the Head of Partner Channel Insights at Autodesk. She was responsible for providing data and analytics support for revenue generation. Her team has helped Autodesk’s resellers and distributors improve sales performance by applying modern data science to solve real-world business hypotheses and problems.
Forever interested in how data intersects with society, particularly with food systems, Sat has researched the use of technologies such as GPS and remote sensing in Precision Agriculture. She has also served as a Data Science advisor at academic institutions and private farms - helping farmers reduce environmental impact and increase crop yields.
Outside the data world, Sat volunteers at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, sorting donations, delivering meals, and sharing smiles.
