The Food Group (TFG) works to make healthy, affordable, culturally connected food accessible to everyone across 30 counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Food procurement is foundational to their core programs, which include hunger relief, affordable retail, and an incubator farm. This unique mix of programs requires equally robust procurement processes, and TFG turned to Food Works Group to create a Procurement Playbook that would improve upon and document their procurement practices. This Playbook, which was built to be a living document grounded in procurement best practices and TFG’s core values, supports TFG as they restructure their procurement team, positioning them for long-term success as they seek to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable food system.
