WHAT CHEFS WANT / CREATION GARDENS - OH

CREATING A ROADMAP TO EXPAND THE FARM TO CORPORATE MOVEMENT

FEASIBILITY AND VIABILITY | 2023

What Chefs Want / Creation Gardens is a wholesale food supplier and distributor, with a large footprint in the midwest and beyond. It recently purchased a food hub, Local Food Connection, to expand its local and regional offerings and to better support small family farms. Food Works Group (FWG) supported the successful application of a USDA Local Food Promotion Planning Grant to conduct a feasibility assessment of and develop a roadmap for expanding the Farm to Corporate movement. Building on the early success of local products moving into multi-unit restaurant concepts, FWG uncovered gaps and opportunities for the wholesale food supplier to increase the availability of and demand for local and regional products in these markets. This involved a review of internal operations and logistics, as well as an external analysis of key partners required to engage in building the Farm to Corporate supply chain.

Food Works Group is a powerful strategic partner for organizations of all shapes and sizes. Wendy, Emily, and their team excel in establishing spaces to listen and to learn. From there, they draw on their bank of vast experience and strategic insight to cut through to the core of the matter at hand. We are truly thankful to count Food Works Group as a valuable project collaborator.
